Position Summary
Melillo Consulting is seeking a Networking Presales Solutions Architect to serve as the technical anchor for our enterprise networking practice. This is a nationally scoped, semi-dedicated presales role with an initial Midwest focus, designed for a technically credible professional who thrives in a consultative selling environment.
The ideal candidate owns the technical relationship with our key networking vendor partners with a strong focus on HPE and Juniper Networking Technologies, leads structured discovery engagements, translates client requirements into billable scopes of work, and elevates the technical competency of our internal sales and delivery teams. This is a high-visibility, high-impact role with direct influence on revenue and partner standing.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Presales Leadership
- Serve as the primary technical resource for networking opportunities across campus, branch, wireless, and data center environments
- Lead and facilitate structured discovery workshops with prospects and existing clients to surface infrastructure gaps, operational pain, and strategic objectives
- Develop and deliver compelling technical presentations, product demonstrations, and proof-of-concept engagements
- Represent Melillo’s networking capabilities in joint field engagements with vendor partner teams
Scoping, SOW Development, and Packaged Offers
- Translate discovery findings into detailed, SOW-ready scopes with accurate level-of-effort (LOE) estimates and resource plans
- Develop and maintain a library of packaged networking offers (assessments, migrations, cloud-managed transitions, wireless deployments) that accelerate sales cycles
- Collaborate with Sales Operations and Delivery leadership to ensure scopes are both technically sound and margin-appropriate
- Own and iterate proposal content, technical response sections, and bill-of-materials documentation for networking opportunities
Partner Alignment and Co-Marketing
- Act as the internal owner of Melillo’s relationships with key networking vendor partners, serving as the primary technical liaison to field and channel teams
- Coordinate joint pipeline reviews, co-selling motions, and MDF-funded marketing activities
- Maintain current knowledge of partner program requirements, roadmap updates, and promotional incentives
- Represent Melillo at partner events, technical summits, and industry forums
Internal Enablement and Delivery Support
- Enable BDRs and Account Executives with networking-specific talk tracks, objection handling, and qualification frameworks
- Develop and deliver internal training sessions on networking solution capabilities, competitive positioning, and discovery methodology
- Provide delivery support for network assessments and implementation engagements, ensuring technical continuity from presales through project completion
- Serve as an escalation resource for delivery teams encountering complex networking challenges
Qualifications
Required
- 7+ years of experience in enterprise networking with hands-on expertise across campus, branch, wireless, and/or data center environments
- Active certification at the professional or expert level from one or more leading networking vendors (e.g., CCNP/CCIE, relevant wireless or SD-WAN certifications from major OEM partners)
- Strong wireless fundamentals including RF design, site survey methodology, and high-density deployment architecture
- Demonstrated experience developing scopes of work, LOE estimates, and technical proposals in a presales or consulting capacity
- Proven ability to lead discovery sessions and translate complex client requirements into structured solutions
- Polished customer-facing communication skills with a track record of building technical credibility at the IT Director and CISO level
Preferred
- Familiarity with cloud-managed networking operations and AIOps/network assurance platforms
- Strong background with major OEM’s – HPE Aruba, Juniper, Arista, Cisco, Fortinet, Palo Alto, etc.
- Experience in a VAR, MSP, or channel partner presales function
- Exposure to adjacent solution areas including network security (ZTNA, SASE), SD-WAN, or campus/data center switching
- Familiarity with Midwest enterprise market dynamics and established relationships in the region
